Things have been crazy here, but we are pretty well settled back in Portland. It feels good to be back and I am so excited for all the new things on the horizon. The first of which is our garden. We are fortunate enough to be able to stay with my mother-in-law while we get settled to help ease the financial stress of the move as well as to allow my Minty Green husband to be able to just focus on school and not have to work at the same time.
My Minty Green MIL has a great backyard which already has to 4'x8' raised beds. We decided to remove the mulch from another bed along the side of the house and till in compost and manure to further expand our gardening space. This gives us another 5' x 22' of space! In fact, I came home and my husband surprised me having all the hard work done! You can see the results below.
We are now in the planning phase. I am doing my research and determining the best things to plant here in the Pacific Northwest that will give us good yields. It is still pretty chilly here--as in we have had only a few days so far that have surpassed 60 degrees! So we still have some time to finalize our plans. Hope to post them here in a few days!
