About 6 months ago my husband and designated a large chunk of our wedding money to purchase a king-sized bed... a item we felt was important for our sleep and marriage (apparently I tend to hog the bed). We got a frame from Ikea we love and a mattress with topper we melt into. It was important to us to buy eco-friendly bedding, so when we picked up an affordable teal sheet set from Target's "Home Organic" Line we thought we hit the jackpot. Not so much it turns out and as always, you get what you pay for. This cheap set not only feels like sandpaper after being washed, it looses it's color easily as well.
So needless to say, we are back in the market for an affordable organic/eco-friendly sheet set that is easy on the wallet. This time I am doing my research. I read the reviews on several websites looking for complaints related to: softness, bleaching and durability. This research was very disappointing to say the least. Especially the number of reviews I read about how these claimed "organic" sheets have a chemical smell that didn't go away for several washings. The only affordable line I consistently saw good reviews for was from Magnolia Organics. They have several collections all costing less than $100, even for a king set! Looks like we will be saving up for one of the sets below.
Do you have organic sheets? What has your experience been?
