I have declared my love for time lapse videos on previous Minty Green posts and was excited to come across one on The Everyday Minimalist, one of the many blogs I follow for inspiration and encouragement. Serena posted this video as a tribute to her favorite city and the longing she has to someday return to the bustling life of New York.
This really hit home for me as I have recently been desperately missing Portland. Since leaving, I realize how strong a relationship I had with this city and feel as though we are going through a painful breakup. My husband and I have discovered that while we could be happy anywhere, Portland had carved out a bigger place in our hearts than we realized. Rain and all. Although we won't be able to pick up and move back tomorrow, we are actively looking for a way to return in the future. It may be a few months or a few years till we make it back, but I now recognize that no city is perfect, and the only thing you can do is find the one for you where the pros outweigh the cons.
Hope you enjoy this beautiful video of New York, and be sure to check out The Everyday Minimalist as well!

ReplyDeleteShort question.. is there a reason why your font is such a light grey?
I'm old and going blind, so this may just be me, but I find it very difficult to read light grey on white. I'm in Google Chrome if that matters... :)
Thanks again!
I had no idea it was showing up like that! It is supposed to be full-black and is a Google font... I just went ahead and changed the font. Hopefully it will work better now :-) Thanks so much for your comment!
